It’s in Spanish. The music is, well, big-band bee bop. Yikes. The script doesn’t translate well at all to English. This was a unique assignment because I had to essentially retro-fit this spot to make sense to an American audience. So after taking in the shot selection, I tried to come up with a story that made sense. I wrote a script, re-edited the edited spot, composed a new score and this is what I came up with. Usually, creative directors get a request like this from a client and politely say, no, I’m sorry, that’s sort of impossible. And to my Creative Director’s credit, he said, let’s give it a shot.
